  Root Canal

  Infection and decay below the surface of your tooth can be painful. Root canal retreatment is virtually painless. Plus, the recovery is much more comfortable than a tooth extraction. Once treatment is complete, you can enjoy a pain-free smile. Root canal retreatment restores the integrity of your tooth and can prevent an extraction. Saving your tooth offers lasting benefits by maintaining the density of your jawbone and the natural strength of your smile. Root canal retreatment is generally less expensive than replacing your tooth. If you opt to remove the tooth, you will need to pay for a bridge or dental implant to restore your smile, in addition to the price of the extraction.

  Apicoectomy

  Unlike surgeries which completely remove one or more roots, apicoectomy only removes a portion of the root tip. Preserving the most dental tissue possible is always preferable. Root canals are notoriously complex systems. During the initial treatment, it can be difficult to remove infected tissue from tiny branches of the root tip (apex). Directly accessing the area can be more effective. Repeating root canal treatment can weaken a dental filling or dental crown. Apicoectomy leaves restorations completely undisturbed.

Endodontists use operating microscopes to view the tiny spaces within the root canals for thorough treatment with lasting benefits.
